Picked it up last weekend for a great deal -

1991 C4 with 57k original miles. All the major early C4 issues have already been taken care of - $6k engine reseal, replaced the original dual mass flywheel & clutch, new top & cabriolet motors and transmission (another $4k). I'm going to be doing the shocks and springs asap as they're definitely worn - but that's really the only thing keeping it from factory new.

The sound of that aircooled motor is delicious It drives and sounds very different than the 931. The power steering has a fantastic feel and stays nice and heavy at all speeds, but not too heavy getting around a parking lot. The transmission is one of my favorite parts, it has a very positive mechanical feel when you slip it into gear. Both models make some great noise and are very unique. And both are about as fast - although the 931 feels quicker with the rush of 1bar boost pressing you into the seat. It's tough to choose a favorite.

Oh yeah, can't beat that sweet carphone! (and yes, I'm getting rid of the fake burlwood veneer...).

You're too quick on the trigger - should be good now.

Ah-ha, no hotlinking with google's picasa. That's annoying.

Let's see if these direct links work:

Very nice car, though you should keep the carphone for that authentic "vintage" feel.

They're something else, eh? All hairs-on-the-back-of-the-neck and that...

The P.O. of my 924 Turbo sold it to me and kept his 911. Said he had a hard time choosing but the 911 is, well, a 911...

Looks like a nice one. Enjoy!

Very nice! I like it! I think there are some great deals to be had when looking at 964's, I think a lot of people are scared of them for no reason. Love the colour. Love the rims too, same as on my 951.

Very nice, but then I have a soft spot for the 911
