Heyy all!
You didnt miss me did you?
Here is an update on the ever-lasting project..
Front bumper lights and indicators all wired in
Cut into the dash to mount some neat window switches and wired them up
Mounted the door popper buttons in the center console and wired them up
Radio is secured and in place
Remote start is finally working well
Center console is all in 1 piece again
Fixed the lighting circuit
Some problems that I need to finally get fixed:
The glove box light:
Looks like the glove box light wire has been chopped off by the PO.. which connector block did it originally run from? I'll probably pass another wire to this and get it sorted.
Oil pressure sender:
Use to work perfectly.. got it back from the monkey who I thought would help me fix up some of the problems on my car since I didnt have time.. BIG MISTAKE! spent most of the time fixing the mess he made.. Now the oil pressure sender gives no reading.. when the car is turned on the needle moves to 0 and stays there.. if I swap the + with the - on the guage the needle shoots to max. Am I right in presuming this is probably just a bad connection on the sensor wire or that the sensor wire got pintched at some point?
Front lights: (euro lights)
When the light switch is clicked once the side lights come on, twice and the side lights, driving lights and dipped beam on the pop ups come on, pull the stalk and the driving lights go off and the main beam on the headlights comes on.. This is correct right?
Also does anyone know of have a late 944 or late 928 with the euro bumper lights in it which they are breaking? I need 2x side light holders and I cant get ahold of them anywhere around here and my normal parts dude is on holiday
Windshield wipers:
Slow works, fast works but doesnt really seem much faster and intermediate does nothing.. any way to test the motor.. I know I know.. no need to really answer this one because I have not got round to the search button yet
Next big thing on the shopping list:
I saw the link that Dan (Idoela) posted about the GTS headlights and I am down for an order as soon as they are completed The ones from deutschnine.com they should be ready for shipment in about 2 weeks
Is there any easy way to add shocks to a fiberglass hood? I cant stand the way it sags to the side when open!
Its not too far off being ready for the road! After the above is sorted the same guys from deuchesenine are going to hook me up with all of the bits for my suspension/brakes and from there its off to the VRT/MOT station then for its re-spray and it will finally feel the black stuff!!!
After it hits the road there is still ALOT of things to be done but it will finally be a real car!
Im gutted because I am going to miss the euro meet this year
I still need a complete set of rubbers for the car.. but that can wait..
Ive got a ton of parts which anyone here can have for free and some which can be had seriously dirt cheap.. just want to cover the costs of shipping.. Ill list everything once the new headlights come in..
How has everyone been around here?
I had a peep at the pics of all of you.. and.. scorpio.. i hate you in that i love you kind of way! when our cars hit the tarmac, its a heads up competition on most chicks in 1 month! PS: Chicks = damn hot chicks! No fuglies or girls with kankles!

i dont understand....do you need a smack on the head? get moving and stop wasting time with the glovebox light and shit...get the car ready to drive...you dont need lights ans switches...you need wheels, a chasis with motor and a steering wheel...do you have those?
i mean...we've talked about this meeting since OVER ONE YEAR now...how long before do we have to set a meeting so some people can show up? 10 years ?!! _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Sparky,
I'm pretty sure the glove box light is tapped off the same circuit as the dome light...that might help you chase it down...
Description of light functioning sounds interesting...I don't know how they work stock on a Euro car, but the bumper lights should definitely turn OFF when you switch to the high beams in the pop-ups. The thing that's strange (at least to me) is that they come on with the low beams. Most cars I've driven, European or otherwise, you want separate switch control over the headlights vs. the driving/fog lights. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

My 914 was the same way. . .it killed the integrated driving lights if headlights were switched to high beam. _________________ Toofah King Bad
