Hello all I’m Matthew here is my 82 924:

http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm318/reconman_2008/924atwork.jpg

I have searched the forums extensively and come up with my plan, I am doing a Carrera GT style finish, because I love the look. I am now looking for some solid yes or no answers on one or two questions, I feel like I know these answers, but before I go spend a day in the yard, and $800 I would like to have some affirmation.

1. I found an 85 944 in the recycle yard with the following parts available.
a. Front fenders, I read these require trimming to fit the 924, I also read that they bolt right up, has anyone used these that can confirm?
b. All front and rear suspension and disk brakes 5lug. I know about the MC differences and I can get that if I need to, do I want the lower control arms? Do I want the torque rods or CV axles etc.? I understand the brake parts will bolt right up, but are there any improvements or advantages to using other parts of the 944 suspension?
c. I intend to convert to mega-squirt would it do me any good to grab the fuel rail and/or injectors from the 2.5? Does anyone have a link to Endwrench for those inserts?
d. I will get the rear flares, and the front air dam #241 from GT. Does anyone know, do the stock 944 front lighting parts fit in #241?
2. So for the time being I have my engine running well. The eventual plan is to do some minor head work, bigger valves, an integral stage 1 cam, oversize valves, a header, EFI and just make a good looking, good running daily sport driver. Am I forgetting anything critical?

That’s all, glad to be a member of the club, thanks.

Welcome, and congrats on the car / project (although the link didn't work for me).

Regarding your questions:
1.a. I have factory steel front fenders on my 941 (931/944 hybrid). I didn't do the work, but it appears to me that they are a direct bolt on.
1.b. This is the best post I've found on the 5-lug conversion (thanks to Rasta): http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?p=173258#173258, but you should add to that list the pair of axle shafts, as they are different length than the 924. Also, be aware that the late (post-87) 944 front spindles do not have the speedo connection, so you would probably be best to stick with pre-87 as a donor car. The biggest advantage is four-wheel disc and MUCH lighter weight between the alu rear suspension and the stock 924/931 steel setup.
1.c. I'm not aware that the 2.5L fuel rail is adaptable to the 924. Your best bet would be to source one from Endwrench (just send him a PM). There are some rumors that the Dodge 2.2L fuel rails are close, but I've never been able to confirm this.
1.d Don't know.
2. If you haven't already, take a look at my Project Planning for 924 Performance Modifications
