If you've seen one of my recent post, you'd know I recently got my 924 back in running order. It purrs like a kitten and I'll likely upload a video once I get to figuring that whole thing out.
What is really interesting to learn is the car doesn't have 124k miles on it as I once assumed it had when I purchased it with an odometer reading of 24k (thought it had turned). But when I was cleaning it up the other day I came across a sticker in the door jam:
Odometer Repair/Replaced at 60,003 miles on 2/2/1989.
That got me thinking, does my 24k on the odometer mean 184k or 84k? Luckily, I have ALL the documents for this vehicle (as well as my other 924) and it only took a few minutes to review odometer reading on service tickets from 1992 through 2000. That's when I smiled and said, "wow my car's actually only got 84k miles on it [pause] sweet!".
This doesn't mean a whole lot I guess, but it was very interesting to learn to I figured I'd share with folks who might "get it" - cuz my wife sure looked me with that blank stare pretty much saying, "yeah, and that gets the $xxx you put in the car back how?"
