|
|
I have installed 7mm spacers on my front hubs to keep the larger 16" wheels from rubbing against the springs. Since it only rubs on the driver's side, would there be any problems only running one front spacer on the driver's side?
Running only one spacer also makes the tires fit under the fenders more evenly.
Got AutoX event in the morning - reply quickly!
Thanks,

running only one spacer may change the track and throw balance off..id imagine the faster you go, the more difference youll notice..but this is just a guess... _________________ Eric

what do you mean one spacer = more evenly? that sounds like the front crossmember is out of its place to me...or maby damaged. take a close look at it and get the tires to stay even but not from the fenders..use the chasis as measurement basis. if you have to add spacers add on both wheels dont mess around. the 924 has NO problems with spacers (i run 40mm spacers on the front) but i would not install spacers only on one side. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

I agree, dont mess with single spacers as it can only affect the geometry in a negative way unless its compensating for a bent car!
The problem with looking at the arch clearances is that the outer arches/wings are variable in fit and hence it quite possible that in an older car one is say 10mm wider and makes the wheel look more inset.
The only safe way to measure is off the chassis.
Cheers
