They often break off when they will not easily pull out.
How about checking them in place with an oscilloscope?
Sometimes they are cheap on eBay _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Hi Guys, it was me that Zerm was asking for, just not had time to get on here and ask.
Might be a bit hard to ship that OSc. over here to the UK, the rear sensor (B) won't budge the forward one will come up half way but no more, I see that the mount is bolted on with 2 allen key bolts, is there an easy way to get in there and loosen them?
Was hoping I could take the whole lot off and check them that way, then knock the old ones out from the holder while its off the car.
Any help would be appreciated just moved on to the S from an N?A, and it seems like I may have jumped to far!! |

I suggest you put it back together and find a loaner oscilloscope.
Those allen screws usually strip out while attempting to remove the holder.
I've seen guys break the holder off on purpose.
The sensors are not cheap..... _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Certainly will look at trying to source one, cheapest I've seen the ref. sensors is around $80 which isn't too bad, just be nice to drive the car and not have to wait for 3 hours til it will start again
Can understand how they would strip if they are steel screwed into alloy. |

The steel and the alloy do not get along over the long term. It causes the dielectric effect from the dis-similar metals, and corrosion occurs where the metals touch each other. It will usually weaken the threads on the aluminum block.

Guys sorry to have just jumped onto the forum and go straight in with all these Q's but..
I have to use the '24 at the minute to get to work and back, not ideal but then the world isn't made that way
Anyway would a dodgy sensor affect the an automatic cars ability to pull and change gear correctly? |
