Today while parallel parking, I heard a very audible squeaking noise, like a loose belt or something. It only happened when I had the wheels turned near the maximum position to get into the parking spot (didn't seem to matter if I was actually moving). As soon as I straightened the wheels a bit, the noise vanished. It wasn't a high pitched squeaking (like metal rubbing metal); more of a rubbery sqeak. I never heard that noise in my 944; it's new to me. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. Is it a critical noise or just another quirky 924 noise?

Also while I'm at it, anyone have a link to a good set of instructions for changing the coolant? My reservoir is low and while I could just add coolant to it, I figure I may as well see about changing the coolant out while I'm at it (don't actually know the last time it was changed anyway).

Thanks!

Either a loose power steering belt or a noisy pressure relief valve in the power steering pump.

Other than the convenience of power steering, are either of those critical to fix? I guess by "critical" I mean will putting the repair off cause damage to other components?

Probably not, but why not at least check your power steering belt's condition and tension?
