I lived there for a year, loved it. Amazing to someone from Canada that you can drive the country and see so much landscape change in such a brief amount of time. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

Beautiful country. Nice people - a bit reserved when compared to Australians and the usual urban problems. Summer is not long enough but probably feels right for mid/northern Europeans. Cars are cheap when compared to Australia.

I made a bet with my self, when it comes to australia and / or new zealand at least the 3rd comment starts a little war........btw it s a kind like Germany and Holland.......
some questions, is there some kind of automotive industrie or larger tier one suppliers around in NZ ? Asking because i work as QA in the automotive field and maybe starting a kind of new live....
Nobbi ......and yes i know that my english isnt even close to perfect.....and it never will because of all those slang`s on the board.... _________________ NA 924 - april/1977- 4-speed-audi gearbox.

My old man is a Kiwi by birth but like the rest of the Kiwi's, he's a long-time resident of Oz now. But I think I have at least one living relative that hasn't abandoned the place... yet...
Seriously, it is a stunningly beautiful country. Most places are picture-postcard pretty. Cities and suburbs are the same as anywhere, though. For example, apart from its location and some amazing vistas, I didn't find Auckland city itself to be anything special. Kinda overcrowded and a little run-down I thought, actually.
I worked there for an extended period once, and have visited many times over the years. I've never lived in Europe but certainly compared to Australia and especially North America, the cost of living is high.

As far as I know, no. I'm pretty sure at least Ford, and perhaps Toyota (maybe Mitusbishi, Nissan and Mazda, too?), used to manufacture there but as far as I know they don't anymore. Kiwi's being the tireless tinkerers that they are, I assume they have some reasonable 'cottage' automotive industry there but not even close to a country like Germany... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

OK, for Nobbi...
| Nobbi wrote: | | is there some kind of automotive industrie or larger tier one suppliers around in NZ ? |
Nein, Ich denke nicht. Die Automobilindustrie in Neuseeland ist nicht so groß verglichen mit Industrie in Deutschland, nur Häuschenindustrie. Keine Ford, GM, usw...

Thaks for your reply Khal,
actually i was waiting for youre one . Ok,so how comes your german is getting better, is the software industrie that good in translating?
`
hey Bass. like the part " isnt remotely close to anywhere" and khal youre right, dont need a lot of people around. A 924 and some lost highways will do.....and please hide the dammed sheeps behind fences...or i make some kebap with garlic-yoghurt-souce of them.

Good call! Yeah, I had to visit Babel Fish for a few of those words, "verglichen", "Häuschenindustrie" and "Neuseeland". And I can never remember the der/die/das thing, so I cheated on that one, too. But I don't trust Babel's grammar, so I put the sentences together myself. It reads OK? On second thoughts, please don't give me a lesson on German grammar
