Sell the 924S and buy a 951, it will cheaper in the end, will hold it's resell value, and actually be drivable.

Take some time and read/search the rest of this board. There is a lot of information related to all the questions you are asking.

On a 924S - don't waste your time with a turbo.
Springs - Weltmeister or other can be purchased
Momo hub - any decent Porsche racing shop

Here's a few places to start shopping around:

www.paragon-products.com
www.pelicanparts.com
www.vertexauto.com
www.ogracing.com
www.lindseyracing.com

Good luck - get your credit card out!

A 951-powered 924S is eminently doable.

True, but it'd look so frikkin' badass you'd better be ready for a lot of trouble. The cops would give you a ticket for reckless driving just cause it looks like it belongs on the track going 150. Plus every goon in a Mustang GT or WRX would want to do the stop light stomp with you.

Actually I'm not sure a stock 951 engine would do the replica justice. You'd better find a way to pump 375hp out of it or it'll be a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Here's what the factory did to upgrade the 944 to a 951:

That's one of my favourite pic's, Paul. Kinda says it all. I wish they had've done one for the 924 Turbo...

Sure it is. Assuming you had all the parts, might even be relatively 'bolt-on'? But it'll be expensive... so much so, I suspect it'd make it pointless. Just buy a 944 Turbo (951).

Of course, if one of your main objectives is to achieve the Carrera GT/GTS/GTR-type look noted above, you'd arguably be better off starting with a 924 body. But to build that kind of replica (resto-mod?) you're pretty much looking at a scratch-build anyway... what sound do these symbols $$$ make to you?

You will need to buy a wrecked 951 and remove and install the parts in your 924S. When you are done you will have a $2000 car.

And if anyone here cared about the 'market' value of their car there would be no 924.org.

But this guy is just starting out, we need to give him the facts so he can make up his own mind.
