I've been having trouble starting my car after running it for a while. I cruised around the forums and figured i was probably losing fuel pressure while my car is sitting. I can turn my key to the accessory position 5-7 times to run the fuel pump and my car will start every time. whats the problem; leaky fuel injector, bad pressure regulator, something worse? _________________ Keep a Chevy motor in a Chevy

Probably a check valve. Having done some exhaustive work on a fule system recently, I would suggest you borrow a fuel pressure gauge. Hook it up to the end of your rail. That way you can check the pumps pressure, the pressure regulator, and shut the pump off and you can check the check valve.
I doubt it is a leaky injector you would have heard one cylendar fire, but not the rest if it were leaking.
You can end up throwing a lot of money just swapping parts. I highly recommend testing it first. It will take less than a half an hour to fully check the fuel system pressures. _________________ 67 Mercury Cougar XR7 under Restoration

yea i kinda figured it was either a bad check valve or the regulator. I'll check the system first though. _________________ Keep a Chevy motor in a Chevy

After you hook up the pressure gauge to the rail, and you have check your pressures, with the pump operating, squeeze the return line, and watch the pressure. Let it go above 59 PSI, it will go fast so be careful, but this check tells you your pump is good.
I agree with your signature up until the Ford part. Although, it will cost me more money to get the same HP as a Chevy 350, my 351C is a screamer. _________________ 67 Mercury Cougar XR7 under Restoration
