in 1981 Jim Baker in Mi bought a 1981 Weissach 924 in 1994 he moved to fla and the car sat and sat and sat in 2005 his son in law got car to get it running and so forth and anyway after 2 years of looking and thinking I reached an agreement to come down see the car and buy it , well after 709 miles it is home in nc , point after owning boxster s 944 turbo 944 968 and many 924 and 924 s cars over the years this is my first long road trip in a low miles 924 , new tires and new brake system , except the alternator bolt bushing being old and worn leading to new battery and recharging old one as back up this , little car never faltered , after 709 miles the car drove like a champ and got over 30 mpg on 89 0ctane , I could not bring myself to buy the cheaper stuff . The fillups went 5 gallons 7 .6 gallons and 7 gallons , I could not blieve it and over 3/4 of a tank left oh btw when she got home the odometer read 25850 yes that is correct and documented miles , this car was so sound and drove so well I could not believe it , the ride is 3 times better than a boxster and yes the seats are manual adj but always work , great experience. There are a fe things to do to keep her in great shape and yes when I parked her in the garage and cranked up the 87 the s felt like a jet but then again if a timing belt breaks on another road trip on the 81 I just get another one . This btw is the lowest miles porsche I have ever owned , it is really sweet , especially when some else has spent the time and money to get it road worthy again , thanks Jim and Dereck! Jesse
