Ok, an elementary question here but its easier to poll the board then dig thru the textbook.
On an 82 931, do I set the cam timing mark to correspond with the "Z" or the "0" on the flywheel mark?
Seems to me I set it to the "Z".....
Thanks as always.... |

Z1 is correct, the O is for ignition timing. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

So did you buy new followers for that new cam instead of taking a winter vacation? _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

That's the next purchase - ouch
By the way, here's another elementary question - the tech manual isn't clear on this point. WHen adjusting the valve clearance, is the cam lobe pointing up or at 9:00? The manual says pointing up but the picture shous the cam at 9:00. Hence my confusion |

There is probably a pretty large area of the base circle with zero lift (and hence a big margin for error), but I would try to have the lobe at 180 degrees from the follower to make the adjustment. _________________ Toofah King Bad
