I have 2 of them over here waiting to be installed on my car when it comes back.. cost 15 sterling each side..
I will post pics later tonight for you mate..
One thing is there is a small sliding barrel which the bases screw into.. if you have a problem making this part let me know, I have an extra set of these

Hey Brockoli,
Got this one from Porsche, price works out at $30 Per side and it includes everything that is in the pic, Basically the re-inforcement plate and the barel which the base screws onto.
Here are the part numbers:
944 531 240 04 GRV (RHS)
944 531 239 04 GRV (LHS)
I did not know these existed either until "Buwani 931" was very kind and sent me some scans of the manual.
Hope this helps buddy,

Hi,,I contacted the porsche dealer in Toronto with the part numbers. They quoted me $211.81 dollars per side.So it looks like I will have to build some unless someone has a used set for sale!! _________________ 1st porsche[77 924 auto] Ontario Canada |

Would you consider getting them shipped to you from the UK?
If yes I will give you the details of the guy who got them for me

I havent checked with Porsche, but I also live in Canada. Do you have access to a passengers side, or right side of the car, mirror mount?
I think shipping it here would be cheaper than the $211 that was qouted to 77924DEN. _________________ '80 924 M471,Wideband O2, Full coilover susp,23/19 sways,Bilstiens,KLA Strut Brace,Roll Bar,Test Pipe,BBS RS, Willwood BBK

it sounds like 77924DEN is making a custom bracket, so i am definetly interested in the passenger side bracket.
I didnt want to "steal it" away from 77924DEN, but if he/she is making a bracket, then I definetly want one.
Is it still available, I would like the details on how to get the bracket, can you PM me with the information? this would be very helpful, I hate driving without the side mirror.
thanks for your help! _________________ '80 924 M471,Wideband O2, Full coilover susp,23/19 sways,Bilstiens,KLA Strut Brace,Roll Bar,Test Pipe,BBS RS, Willwood BBK

Are the plates welded in, or how are they held in?
I'm planning on ditching my big side mirrors, and would be happy to lose the extra weight. Might even be convinced to recycle the plates etc... _________________ Vaughan Scott

As far as I can tell they are welded in place. They are part of the door.
The parts I ordered are used to install mirrors on a car that did not have them. I got the info from a scan of the workshop manual that Buwani kindly sent me.
If you would like I can post the scans he sent me..

Saw this 911 backing plate - similar, but different?
Anyway, it's on eBay for about 5 bucks about now.
Item 380006511926
I think I've seen Rennspeed sell 944 plates.
