As you know I am looking to buy some carpet for my car.
I approched this guy on Ebay about shipping to Aust and he replied USA only.

Me:
In your ad it talks about international buyers.
Yet you have told me you wont send to Australia.
What gives?
I am willing to buy and freight as the carpet is not available here.

Seller
plan on $100-$200 shipping and only form of payment is us funds money order. i understand if you are not interested any longer after reading this email.
thanks

Me:
If you can confirm the ship price and accept Paypal (check my feedback) I'd consider it.

Seller:
you better go back and read the email again about payment terms. i dont belive i said paypal was an option.

Me:
Your ebay ad does. I'd like to know how I can do a US money order from here.

Me:
Sorry- re- read the ad- US only for Paypal

Seller
please cut and paste the area that says I will take paypal from someone who does not live in the states. I don't live in Australia so I don't know how you would get a us money order and frankly I don't really care.

Me:
Nice attitude

Anyway if people in the USA want carpet he is at

Based on his ad and the way he treated you, I will not buy anything from him.

Havent ebay just instituted some new rules about accepted payment types - stuff like you can't exclude people based on country for Paypal, and other similar stuff...

Certainly a way to go.
I have found some other seller on Ebay who sells the 944 carpet for just a bit more.

The other prick is not getting my money.

If he accepts Paypal locally he must accept it internationally...

Quote:
***Misleading and Discouraging Payment policy***

02 October 2007 | 05:01PM EST

eBay will require all sellers to adhere to the Misleading and Discouraging Payments policy from mid October 2007.

This policy is in place to help ensure the buyer can bid on or purchase a listed item knowing what acceptable payment options are available to them up front, and what buyer protection may be applicable.

Sellers who state in their listing that they accept certain payment methods must not selectively offer those payment methods to buyers or discourage buyers from using any of the payment methods offered. For example, a seller that accepts credit card payments cannot say that they only accept them for items over a certain value; similarly a seller offering PayPal cannot say it’s available for international purchases only.

This means that sellers must always accept payment from buyers through the payment methods they have chosen to offer.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

* Listing cancellation
* Forfeiting eBay fees on cancelled listings
* Limits on account privileges
* Loss of PowerSeller status
* Account suspension

PayPal may also take action against sellers, in accordance with its User Agreement and applicable policies.

Read more on the Misleading and Discouraging Payment policy.

Regards,
The eBay Team

Correct but the second seller I put in also sells the whole lot as a set.

Only thing is I dont know if it will fit a full size spare.

I agree!
Have no time for Aholes like that either. Only has feedback of 35 and hasnt been around long anyway, while the last seller has many years experience and a 3400 score.

Please take a second and report that seller to ebay if he's in violation.

Would it be any cheaper if you could get your motor trimmer more business, and he made a pattern or a couple of sets while he was at it, for Ozzie, Scorpio, or other Aussies? Just a thought.

This may be a dumb question, but isnt the carpet shape different in the rhd cars compared to USA Left hand drive cars

Pages 288 to 290 of the PET shows different numbers for (AUS)

Maybe its upside down as well as down under

Good point Alan.
On the passenger side of a RHD there is a big triangular shaped piece of molded polystyrene foam up where the pedals would go in a LHD, that gives a squared footrest. The carpet is molded to fit around that and without the foam the carpet will not sit against the floor and firewall. I know, I tried without it and there was a hollow, so I put the block of foam back. Maybe there is a similar bit on the RH side of a LHD. Also that section is wider on the left but assume they are all like that since 90% of these cars were LHD, and that gave more room for the pedals and foot clearance.
