Doing some routine maintenance on my 87 - 924S, I noticed two sensors in the head near the front of the engine (drivers side). One has a single wire, the other has a connector. Which is which? I could not find either in the PET or my Haynes manual.

The single wire had a resistor in line before the spade connector. I suspect this is the Head Temp sensor and someone was trying to filter the output signal to the ECU. Is this typical, and if not why do it?

TIA,

Gerard

No time to check references now; so from memory:

The front single wire is to the temp guage. Resistor? Maybe someone trying to fool the guage reading?

Rear to the DME computer.
