Last night playing intramural basketball, I ruptured my achilles tendon.. Which means no driving stick shift, and any hope of getting my car running decent before storage time, is gone. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

wow. sorry to hear that. When you love driving, that's one of the first things that comes to mind with a left leg or foot injury. I hop you have a quick recovery. what does the doctor say? _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA

Complete tear or partial? Fingers crossed that it isn't completely detached. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

I believe it's just a partial tear, because it didnt ball up in my calf(like it does with a full tear).
I have an MRI on monday to confirm that it is torn, and surgery on Tuesday if it is confirmed.
At least its not racing season. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

That's some good news then. With a partial tear you should be able to recover to near pre-injury flexibility and strength, if you respond well to surgery and are dedicated about physio.
I know with a full tear you have to wear an imobilizing cast on your lower leg and foot for quite some time to ensure nothing moves once the tendon is re-attached. Even after "recovering", you'll never be the same and athletically speaking you are pretty much done. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

From the way the surgeon spoke, I'll have a boot on for a while either way. This really sucks going to school and now I wont be able to work much(in sales).
Long road ahead, my arms are probably gonna be huge from crutchin' myself around.
Thankfully my buddies/roommates I live with have been real helpful so far. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |
