I have a chance to pick up two 924 Turbos for pretty cheap, I was just wondering what the going rate is on the hoods with the vent. Anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance guys.

ten bucks, we do our best save 931's lives here , parting anything less than a total basket case, or hard wreck is murder...

They both have blown motors and have been sitting for several years. It would be a waste of money to try to repair them. Used parts have to come from somewhere, not all of us can afford to buy brand new from Porsche...

Just picked up a fuel tank from John on Monday for a project.

Great guy to deal with.

Am interested in one of the turbo hoods if the price is right

Thank you very much for the vote of confidence Gary. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth my while to buy these these cars.

The cars might be worth parting out but the problem with hoods is this:

You can't ship 'em 'cause it costs too much. So if you don't have a local buyer, they're worth like, well, nothing (hoods are best for keeping the expensive parts that are under them dry until they're sold ). Most remote buyers fade away once they discover it costs a small fortune to ship a hood even a short distance.

Bring 'em to Hershey next year. You might find someone there with a trailer that's willing to take 'em home...

I have a local buyer for one in detroit for one. Greyhound ships hoods for about $50 almost anywhere in the country as long as someone is there to pick it up. And I plan on taking plenty of 944 hoods to Hershey next year, hopefully I'll even sell a few.

A good chin piece (the front sheet steel under the bumper) for a turbo car is worth some money IF it's in good shape. I don't know of anyone who has good ones for sale. I'd like to get a couple of good ones to build a mold from for duplication in carbon fiber.
