| The bulb for my engine temp gauge is kaput. How do I go about removing the dash cluster so I can change the bulb ? |

That combi guage is just a friction fit with a rubber ring around the base of the gauge and a small white plastic key at 6pm. Watch for the plastic key when you push it out toward the steering wheel from behind the dash. Actually, I usually just pull my steering wheel anytime I start crawling under the dash. It makes it a lot easier to move around. You shouldn't have to remove the two screws that hold the dash pod in, but you can if you want more flexibility. _________________ '88 924S 3L 6sp RedRat

Disturbing 20 year old wiring, and the cracked dashboard is not a good way to go.
You can actually replace the bulbs from the back side if you slide the seat all the way to the rear, and crawl up under the dashboard with a strong flashlight. Then all you do is reachup and remove the blub socket for the bulb that is out.
Make sure that you replace the bunrt out bulb with one that has the same rating. I know that it is tempting to put in brighter bulbs, but melting the plastic bulb socket or damaging the instrument would not be good. |

You make that sound waaaay to simple!! I was under there tonight replacing the light in the speedo, and attempting the one in the tach. I think if I broke my arm in about 3 places I might be able to get in more comfortably!!
Did manage to change the one in the speedo, but couldn't get the tach before my arms/neck gave out. I did remove the DME, which allowed me better line of sight. _________________ Bruce
