I got a kit coming from e bay shortly. It has 4 sensors on it and you are supposed to wire it to the reversing light circuit after fitting them to the rear bumper.
I reckon if you have 2 on the front and 2 on the back and wire them into the ignition circuit then you will have all round parking sensors. Obviously I will trial run this by using sticky tape rather thandrilling the holes initially.
They only start beeping when you get too close to a vehicle so I dont reckon they wil be too much annoyance. I have heard that some manufacturers do this as standard so am optimistic.
I will keep you informed as to how I get on. _________________ Steve

Why do you need sensors in a 924 ?????
You have to in the front, just open your eyés !!!!
And, no car i have driven was so good in looking backwards as the 924 !?
So, only excuse doing this kind of thing, you are very short (1,60 m) !!?

i installed parking sensors in my truck, as it has very limited rear visibility and it has come in handy . the rate of the beep increases as you get closer to an object, and it has an led bar scale as well, though you really shouldnt be looking at the leds if your parking.. i suppose they would be usefull , even in a 924 if you have allot of kids around, or who like to leave bikes/objects behind your parking space, they do work well. they will also pick up ground elevations as well, but they remind you to be cautious. just be mindfull of the installation angles soyou have good coverage but not false alarms. _________________ Eric

Actually I am exactly 1.60!
I also do not like any bumps on my car!
I also use a sat nav, I like to get there on time!
I even go so far as to turn on the headlights if it gets dark!
Any more for any more???
Thanks for your comments 924 guy _________________ Steve

with bad neck vertebrae I can only turn 45deg L or R so rely on mirrors a lot. reverse sensors would be fine but I'm thinking of a camera to hook into my sat nav. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

lol, ive got a camera in my truck as well!... unfortunately, i toasted the 1.8" monitor i installed awhile later when a hot wire came loose, but it worked great while it lasted, and i removed the monitor from its casing for a totally custom install..
with a nav system its much more plug and play, just make sure an wires exposed to the elements are well insulated, and try and get a camera that flips the image if your monitor doesn't, otherwise left will really be right and vise versa....which can get confusing... _________________ Eric
