18s will look even worse, you need to lower the car.

I would keep the 17s, they look real nice, but lower the car like everybody said.

dont you have to put new rear torsion bars in the back to lowwer it, and how much would that cost

If it makes you happy, sure. I dont know much about early 924 torsion bars, but I dont think you need new torsion bars to lower your ride. On late 924S 944 type cars you can reindex your bars to a lower setting.
The inside splines are 40, and the outside splines are 44, you move the inside spline forward and the outside spline back to get minute adjustments. I am not the authority on this, check Clarks Garage. Changing torsion bars can stiffen your suspension depending on what you buy.

Yes for radical lowering, however, you can go about 1.5 inches lower by using the eccentric adjustment built into the rear trailing arms (except for very early 924's).
