Can't vouch for the lexan products - but I bought my Magnecors from them - no problems at all.
What's a hatch going to cost to ship to Melbourne?

well apparently they cannot ship internationally, so it would require an intermediate shipper.

Polycarbonate is flexible and resilient stuff but it is soft and scratches very easy. It is much softer than acrylic. Dont think it would polish out easily either. Go to your local plastic shop and get an offcut to play with, then decide if you want to follow up on these.
According to their specs it is half the weight of glass. Havnt weighed the hatch but have R&R and lifted it and would estimate it at 20Kg. So to save 10Kg you could also remove your spare tyre, your subwoofers, or put in $7 less fuel.
And wouldnt you be pissed of if you left it in the pub car park and returned to find some A hole had scratched graffiti on it. Same stuff they use on bus stop windows so the vandals cant smash them but look how well they deface it.
