Can someone confirm for me the differences in short blocks between the 924, 931, series I & II.

924 - pistons- "cast light alloy", compression- RoW'78-'85 9.3:1, US'78-'79 8.5:1, US'80-'82 9.0:1

931 - pistons- forged, compression- both RoW & US '79-'80 (S1) 7.5:1, RoW '81-'82 and Italy thru '84 (S2) 8.5:1, US '81-'82 (S2) 8.0:1

Thanks for that.

So the crank, rods and block are all the same, only the bearings, piston pins, pistons and rings are different?

Actually, I believe the bearings are the same also. Everything else from the rods on out is the same. (All 924NA-931 got forged rods according to the little booklet here.)
