Can someone confirm for me the differences in short blocks between the 924, 931, series I & II. _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

924 - pistons- "cast light alloy", compression- RoW'78-'85 9.3:1, US'78-'79 8.5:1, US'80-'82 9.0:1
931 - pistons- forged, compression- both RoW & US '79-'80 (S1) 7.5:1, RoW '81-'82 and Italy thru '84 (S2) 8.5:1, US '81-'82 (S2) 8.0:1 _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

So the crank, rods and block are all the same, only the bearings, piston pins, pistons and rings are different? _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

Actually, I believe the bearings are the same also. Everything else from the rods on out is the same. (All 924NA-931 got forged rods according to the little booklet here.) _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
