If someone could measure, I would appreciate it.

The monkeys that used to care for Red put in a generic piece of hose that seems way too long. . .the valve is mashed up against the firewall, and the rotating external piece is digging into the firewall insulation.

TIA

PS. . .the monkeys also put the injector retaining clips on UPSIDE DOWN. D'OH!

The factory hose is a molded piece, not bulk hose.

And pray tell, how long is this moulded piece? Is it straight, or shapely?

It's straight, see page 212 of the 924S PET (part 36).

The piece is curved, mine is not quite 90degrees, about 4 inches long and you can get it for about $3.74 at AutohausAZ (copy & paste into your browser: http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=03ylf455mswxxu55axyjkjv2&makeid=800019@Porsche&modelid=1263327@924%20S&year=1988&cid=24@AC%20%26%20Heat%20-%20Climate%20Control&gid=6892@Heater%20Hose Their part number is 94457238501 (free shipping if total order >$50). Pelican parts also has a photo of the piece but they want $8.

Hmm that is interesting. . .as Paul pointed out, the piece looks straight in PET.

I have one on order. . .I don't suppose I could trouble anyone for a photo showing the correct installation??

TIA

I will try to get you a photo later if I can get a good angle/view but the hose I believe you are asking about is really buried under a few obscuring wires and the intake manifold. I don't know about other's cars but on my '88 924s it is a short piece of hose which curves almost straight down to the rear just slightly angled towards the passenger side. The hose that I have is original and is definitely not straight, but a molded curve, I'd guess 110-120 degrees. I note you list PIR as your location-I live outside Hockinson/near Battle Ground WA if you want to see it "live".

For a photo of the heater hose going to the control valve in an unaltered 1988 924S see: http://www.pacifier.com/~kawalden/index.html . (I will leave this image up for only a short time as space is limited.)This is how it came from the manufacturer; I haven't touched it & I have owned it since it was new (one owner).

Hi ho silver!

Thanks for the pic, got it installed today. You should see my wounded arm. . .I ran my left behind the head to hold stuff while I wrenched with my right.

Ow!

Did you clean the grounds that are under the heater valve while you were in there?
