as the subject line really

in the Uk how much do you pay for your 931 insurance (or n/a it all helps) and who have you gone through? - is the car garaged?

Any help welcomed!

I'm with Frizzell, my insurance has jumped this year at renewal for both my cars but I'm taking the 924 (1978 n/a) off the road for a while anyway to clean her up. I *was* however paying around £225 fully comp with protected no claims (had the max ncb), that was on a normal policy which had no restrictions on mileage or use. Car was driveway parked and although it has an alarm/immob it wasn't an authorised/recognised one. Excess I think was £200.

My other car is a 2001 Vauxhall Zafira with 7yrs ncb and coming in around £300 a year to insure by comparison.

Renewals this year though the 924 has spiked to £309 and the Zaf to £346 with the same insurer but as I say I want to work on the 924 (starting to finally rot along the lower edges) so I'm moving my maz ncb to the Zaf to cut my expenses.

I've had classic car quotes on the 924 in the past, very limited mileage requirements and usually require a thatcham cat 1 immob (and quite often a report/valuation from a club), ran from as little as about £100 (mileage down to something like 3k) to just under £200. Restrictive but you normally get a guaranteed value should they ever have to payout.

Yes, was aware, cheers for the reminder though, didn't go on there much since last year cos it was locked down for members. I did, however, sell my n/a to a member of the UK group's son..

after ideas on insurance for the 931 as a second car (my brothers actually) as he has a daily drive and therefore can't use the no-claims on it

as a 2nd car if you've not got a 2nd set of ncb to apply to it then the best bet is a classic car specialist, they don't use any ncb in most cases but do take what you've got on your main car into consideration for the price.

lancaster - by far the cheapest for me using the quickquote, especially if your brother's not using NCB
