Should the S heater valve operate smoothly, or does it have a series of detents that make it click from one position to the next? _________________ Toofah King Bad

IIRC its a smooth transition, but its been a long time so i may be wrong. i would think even if there were detentes, they would be in the control lever, not at the valve. _________________ Eric

I got my parts from an early 944 and there are no indents in the control. The valve should definitely move smoothly, although it's possible the lever inside the cabin has indents in the 924S. _________________ 1980 931S

Smooth, though it's a lil' sticky. _________________ 1987 924S: Very much in love with it, even if it's all finnicky |

Thanks for the replies. After close examination of the PET, as well as pics from a few online parts suppliers, it seems the monkeys* put the wrong valve in the car.
