in a straight line yes, but I would rather get a 944 turbo and make a few mods as you can get that much power out of the 944turbo engine, without to too much (or close too it anyway) _________________ 3 928s, |

""in a straight line yes""
??? You don't think a 944 can corner?
The cool thing here is that you are driving a Porsche with Chevy maintenance. It's just gotta be cheaper to maintain a Chevy engine than a Porsche Turbo engine and talk about your sleepers....
I think his price is a tad high but it's a pretty cool mod... _________________ -Stu

well yes chevy matenance is nice but the chevy motor is abit heavier (100-300lb I think but not sure), this throws off the weight ratio, and can affect handling. it will still handle nice but a stock 944/944turbo will handle better _________________ 3 928s, |

Looks like a nice neat installation and if the sellers weight distribution is correct it shoudl still handle weel. The weight distribution is 52% front and 48% rear - while not the same as the 931 at 48/52 how many cars actually are driven with that set up.
However I don't think I woudl pay US $19,000 for it that equates to NZ$40,000 and for that money I could buy a Nissan Skyline, play with the turbo's and have a car with around 700 reliable horses and four wheel drive. _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,

Here's the thing.
He starts the auction at 10,000 and then tells you the reserve is 19,000. I've never understood the logic behind that.
No doubt it is an excellent car but I don't think he'll ever get what he wants out of it. _________________ -Stu
