I'm looking for a group opinion here. I'm going to replace the existing wiper motor in my 82 931; the existing one is slow. Has anyone ever opted out for a reman'd unit at $90? I see Cardone has these. New one ranges from $215 to $235.
thanks for your offerings |

When I have an electric motor problem I normally just take it apart, clean, lube, reassemble and they're good as new. -But if you're not into that, a rebuilt one should have had at least that done plus a testing.
Aside from that though - are you sure the problem's with the motor?.. It could be resistance built up at the wiring connections. For a quick test, you can apply 12V+ and ground directly to certain elect posts right at the motor to see if it picks up speed.
I have a post floating around here somewhere that shows which posts to use..

| I took it part and cleaned it when I first got the car. The windings were all rusted, so I cleaned them as best I could. I also lubed the bearings. The motor works, its just slow. I'll try your idea of direct connection to the battery for a speed test. |
