I was looking at getting some 250 lbs. springs for my car, but if I get springs in the front I need a different torsion bar in the back right? I don't know anything about torsion bars, where can i get them? are they hard to put in? thanks

If you wish to keep the same handling balance, yes, you will need to either replace the rear torsion bars or put in a stiffer rear swaybar; just upping the front spring rate will make the car push (understeer). Since the stock spring rate is about 110lbs, you'd be doubling the front spring rate, so a substantial push.
The torsion bars are easy to come by, from anyone that sells Porsche parts, but they are a major hassle to change. For your case, for a street car, I'd recommend just changing the rear swaybar. The torsion bars also cost about $260 for a pair, vs $142 for the factory rear 944 Cup Car swaybar kit (bar with bushings, cost from Paragon Products). That's a bolt-on addition if you already have the mounts (some do, some don't) for the stock rear 14mm swaybar. It's far easier to change in, and will not require realigning the car.
Hope that helps...

ok, i'll just put in a rear sway bar, what do the mounts look like so I can go see if my car has them? also, if I did decide to put in different torsion bars, how much of a hassle would it be? are they really hard to put in? hard to realign the rear? thanks
