Hello outhere,
i am dealing with a problem right now and the last 8 years or so......
Both of my hinges are brocken and i removed the complete mechanism from the inside of the doors.
Now the question, has anybody dealt with the same issue and what are possible solutions!? (Pic is nice)
I am thinking about some old-style leather strips or something.....
Thanks for your help.

Are you talking about the hinges or the door stops? I can't see you driving the car for 8 years with no hinges..lol So I'll assume you mean the door stops.
What part is broken on your car... the recieving end on the body of the car?
You can replace the stop from some of the VW's like the jetta etc. with little or no modification.
show me a pic of what your problem is. _________________ 1976 924

Hey porschev,
youre right, the door stops. The parts inside the door are taken out completly and the part on the body is stucking all the way inside, without any chance to fix them.
Sorry, no camera available. So, no pic.
I thing i need a other solution.

Door check straps come up all the time on Ebay. Grabbing a replacement shouldn't be a problem.
Frankly, I don't think old-style leather straps (although cool!) would be up the the job. Those are heavy Teutonic doors on these cars! _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)
