So i have a dilemma folks, I have been offered a 931 shell (82) no motor, with all the spare parts basically no block or tranny. The dilemma is that i have no room. Was wondering if anyone knew if those rental spaces you can get allow vehicles?? I already have an 81 931 in my driveway, and no more room for vehicles (3 cars total already). It wont go anywhere for a while (It's mine and my brother's project car) so it could stay at his place for a while and have nothing done to it. The other problem is i dont have the tools and such to put in a motor or tranny, heck i dont even have a jack and jackstands yet....might buy those this weekend. Oh and going to his place to work on the car isnt really easy, he lives 3 hours away, It could be done but not an easy way to do things. Also i dont want to sell off my 82 or the 81. Any suggestions? _________________ 1981 931

Sell the house and buy a garage with an attached house in the country (read that barn with attached farm house) and then load it up with all the toofahs your heart desires...............maybe even open up a toofah specialty shop. Yeah.......................that's it. _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

Thats better.
There is no such thing as a free Porsche. With no running gear, the fact that you don't have many tools, this is a big undertaking. I would not suggest paying to store an item when you don't have a definite date when the storage will no longer be required. If you can stick it somehwere free of charge until you are ready to get to it, great, but monthly rental for storage on an essentially scrap car is crazy. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

i thought of...putting the motor in the 82, and stripping the 81...but that doesnt make much sense since the 81 runs alright, drove it today. Oh well guess its gonna stay in richmond for a while.
Tigger...I'm 22 live at home and work and goto school, changing houses how awesome that does sound...isn't feasible....still would be awesome to make a two-four garage. _________________ 1981 931

My advice is to calculate all the costs to get it up to satisfaction then add 1/2 the cost to it for incidentals then see how much cash you have or can obtain then see if you have any money left to buy a stick of gum then if so try to rent a shop. _________________ Dal Glassinger |
