to pay for a transaxle rebuild? Not talking the whole thing, myself and the mechanic I saw both think the problem is in the differential.

He said around $2400, seems a little much for just the diff, but maybe I'm just being naive here?

Aaaaanywho, gonna call around some transmission repair places and see what they say.

Yeah, he had found a tranny from an '89 924s, but he wanted 1350 for it. Knew that was juuuuust a little more than I would need to pay for one.

Tricky part's finding a used tranny.

Okay I can't help but giggle a little bit saying "used tranny." But that's neither here nor there.

Yeah, that's pretty absurd pricing, unless he's talking installed price? Still seems high even at that - trans swap isn't so bad on these cars...
