Is it possible to fit 1983 944 rear suspension in an early (1977) 924?
The mounting points look to be completely diferent.

I've had a quick search but couldn't find an answer.

If this won't work, could the 944 spring plates be made to fit in my housing, as I'd like to have the adjustability if possible.

They are completely different, yes. I did it once, using a bandsaw to carve up the end mounts of the torsion bar carrier (from the 944 suspension) so they'd fit under the body. Alternatively, as you've noted, you could probably swap in the 944 spring plates, might be less work.

On the plus side, as I see you have a rally car, the early suspension is a hard-mount, eliminating the need for buying a lot of bushing replacements...

Thanks. Has anyone done this? Do they fit?
