Hi all,
I need help making these images reworked:
They are the headers for:
http://www.iribbit.net/i/924org/
which I am slowly working on. I have quite a bit of content to go through and strip down to text, but over all there is progress here and there. Most recently, I pull the news out of the History section and made it its own - News & Information. Here, I pull in to two RSS Feeds, one from Porsche USA and the other from the PCA.
Anyhow, more information on this project can be found here:
http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=16676
Any one with some free time, I just need some of the old content copy-n-pasted into text files - stripped of all the old HTML.
Thanks for any help you might be able to offer. _________________ 924.org (no time to complete)

Can't help on the images (our cat has more graphics ability than me) but I can help with some of the HTML to text conversion. Tell me what pages. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Hey I'm up for it too!
Am keen to take a shot at the banners also......but how's scope for redesign?
Do i have to use that font and those images?
I can see the dev site is white/black - very slick and lightweight...so will try to be inkeeping with the style so that it looks like part of the website.
Are there any other pre requisites in terms of the design? (i.e. things that you definitely want in there)
Kind Regards

Design
I'd like to stay with the light weight content area I built on the dev site. So I just need the banner replaced. Right now the top corners are hard and its otherwise rather boring. It currently is 900x110 but can go taller if the design concept needs it. I can work the search and email to friend/print preview functions in the header too - that will bump the content up just hat much.
In other words, go to town with it - just no wider than 900px and make the bottom bleed nicely into the black hairline border around the content section. And if you want a different color for the body (outside the content) then let me know - I'm not married to the black (just liked the contrast).
As mentioned in the initial post, I have this coded to randomly generate - so I gave three examples of how the banner would be the same, but the car would be randomly inserted.
Prerequisites:
a.) cannot directly use the Porsche shield/logo (although I am willing to pursue permission if the design is that good - but have a backup)
b.) can use pictures from porsche.com as long as I reference them
c.) use any font you like, I have two porsche fonts if you want to experiment with them
d.) randomizeing effect like I did years ago on corvettecollection.com (refresh page several times to get idea )
e.) clean, crisp, attractive, professional - I wan to look better than all other registry sites cuz cool people own 924's
Content
The "Troubleshooting" and "Tutorials/DIY" sections are not well defined. I'm trying to get content within a two or three clicks. So the first thing I see needing to be done is to get an inventory of all the content we currently have, find out what is outdated/inaccurate. If we can draw an outline of the content we have and organize it to be no more than three bullet points deep, then I can recode the left navigation accordingly and inserting the content will be easy.
From there, I just need the text, no HMTL. The CSS for the dev site should handle 90% of the formating. If you want, you can document things into word documents to preserve the pictures and their relation to the content. Preserve the bolding, italic, and bullet points, etc - thats fine too. In this situation, maybe labelling [imagename] where you want the image in the text and then sending the originals(from the current site) with the word doc in a single zip file baring the name of the section/page.
i.e http://www.iribbit.net/i/924org/sample.txt
For instance, I did the repair manuals last night:
old:
http://www.924.org/techsection/technical.htm
new:
http://www.iribbit.net/i/924org/ts_repairmanuals.cfm
But now where does the jack information really go (these are the issues I am struggling on without knowing if there is more content that relates to jacking the car.
Am I rambling too much in my excitement or does this all make sense?
The easier design task is to pull content from the discussion board to fill in the four sections of the "Racing the 924" section. _________________ 924.org (no time to complete)
