Can a 1980 924 n/a ignition module be swapped into a 1980 931?
My spark is cutting out on me on the 931. I just replaced the coil. didn't help. just wondering what the differences are between the 924 and 931 ignition module. Looks like they use the same connector, but the 931 unit has those extra (test?) ports on the top that look like coaxial cable ports (I don't even have cable TV in my house, why would I want it in my car. ) _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA

Doesn't the 931 hae DITC or some such? I think the 931 and 924 ignition modules would be totally different, just my guess. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

In 1980, they used different ICM's. PET states p/n 046.905.351 for the N/A and 477.905.351B for the turbo.
DITC was used on 1981 on.
Check your connector plug at the ICM and make sure there's no moisture in there. _________________ 1981 931 (Concours)

the weather has been hot and dry here in san diego and I have not washed my car in months. haha. anyway, I did check the connector. Looks dry and clean.
I know they are different part numbers, but often items with different part numbers are interchangeable. The unit on the 931 has those extra test ports. That alone will give it a different part number. That may be the only difference?? I was just wondering if anybody happened to know if they could be swapped. _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA
