Anyone have anything to say about Minus000?

I'm about 99% sure that Minus000 was at some time an owner of my 924. I've looked at a couple of his posts, and it sure seems to be this car. I KNOW I didn't buy it off him, because the guy I bought it from was completely clueless -- not the kind of person that should own one of these cars.

I know from the bit of work I've done that people in the past have certainly over-tightened just about every fastener -- everything holding down a plastic piece has cracked the plastic, and pivots tend to bind 'till they're loosened to a reasonable torque.

From the sounds of it lots of the nagging issues were solved (like accumulator, fuel pump, and other similar issues). I was just wondering if anyone had any impressions from the guy.

I think he sold the car about a year and a half ago. He sold me a couple of seats for my 924, he gave me a great deal, packed them well and was timely.

He communicates well and seems honest, a stand-up guy in my books.

Isn't Minus000 the guy that mentioned he was about 6'8" in a discussion on leg room? -If so, and if you had to look way up to talk to the guy - that might have been him.

I've read a few of his posts to get an idea of the history of the car after I first suspected it was his, and that all confirms my syspicions. I too recall him mentioning his immense height. I'm taller than most people, but hardly very tall.

The guy I bought it from was a clueless guy who I suspect had the car for about a year, which would fit exactly with what Neil924 said about a time frame for when Minus000 got rid of the car. The guy I bougth it from couldn't be more than 5'10" I'd guess.

He (Minus000) also put in a 4 spoke wheel, which is a bit smaller than the stock wheel, which gives added leg room for tall people. It looks way better than the stock week to boot!

Also, the drivers seat (also not an original seat) is a bit lower than the passenger seat. That's great for me, but the car is mostly for my wife. She's a little on the short side, and has problems seeing over the hood with the lower seat. Eventually I'll get around to investigating the seat spacer issue to get the drivers side higher; that'll make it harder for me but easier for my wife who drives the car the most. I haven't quite gotten around to that yet for obvious reasons!

Hey Tom if you ned a set of original seats I have some for you. A decent set of tan ones you can have for free if you want to meet me at the Tsawassen ferry terminal.

Just washers and longer bolts should raise the seat. And if I'm not mistaken, that's MY 4 spoke wheel in the car. I can't remember if I sold it to him but I remember selling him something and I mostly sent steering wheels to BC. Is the wheel still in good shape?

I might just have to take you up on that some day.

Well, it's not perfect, but what can you expect for something that old? It's just about perfect. There's a thread or two starting to come loose. It's definitely a major improvement over the stock wheel -- it looks great, and feels great too!

Way too many steering wheels are overly thin. This one has some meat to grab on to.

It's kind of neat finding things out about the car this way.

The steering wheel is one of my wife's favorite things about the car.

I also noticed that there's a date of '82 or something like that on the back of the speedo when I repaired the odometer. Not only was it broken when we got the car, but it's not even from this car, so the mileage is anybody's guess. The pedals aren't completely worn out, so it's probably not been a daily driver for its entire life.
