Does anybody know:
* Is there a clutch disk for 924S with springs instead of rubber?
* Is it possible to use 924T clutch disk for 924S? (or may be clutch disk from other car fit 924S?) _________________ Euro 924 '85 016/8 4-wheel disk brakes |

Try ClutchMasters
You might also try HorsePowerFreaks, although their website is fairly useless... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

the 924T (931) has the same 25mm shaft so that's a start. I think the diameter is the same (225mm) but check that. The real thing to look at is clearance as (if I remember correctly) spring clutches are slightly thicker than rubber (around the centre not the friction area). Not much help really. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

the late 82 931's came with the rubber-centred clutch. the flywheel was modified to deal with this change.
my guess is it wont work for this reason?
i have a 944 flywheel and both 931 types of flywheel lurking in my garage somewhere. i'll have a look at them and i should be able to answer your question tommorrow. but my guess is what paul suggested...the springs will foul the flywheel bolts. |

The rubber center is long updated to the spring center for good reasons as you all know. Sachs only sells the spring center disk with the kits or alone. The flywheel is not different because of the rubber center as this makes no difference. The pressure plate has the same dimensions as well. If your car still uses a rubber disk, then you will be changing it soon enough. _________________ A person is smart. People are stupid |

The 931 spring center clutch disc will not work in a 924S.
The 924S and the 944 share the same engine and use the same clutch discs.
The rubber center clutch disc is the original style. The spring center clutch disc first came out as an option, and later became the superceed part to the rubber center clutch disc.
From what I understand, Porsche only sells the spring center clutch disc now. |

Have read in other threads that the US Ford Bronco II spring disk is a replacement for both the rubber 931 disk?? and spring disk, can anyone confirm that it will not foul on the bolt heads on as I plan to order one tomorrow from from USA as can not find source in AUS. Any info appreciated... _________________ Wozz

Just order the Sachs part that fits your car. I don't believe the stuff some guys do to avoid doing things the right way!! _________________ A person is smart. People are stupid |
