well just got back from Brands
happy that the red car prooved to be as good & better than some 911SE & 944 not only round the twidly bits but on the straghts to.
could not take the white race car as it had some problems thas i could not fix in time.
you could see that the car was a bit of a out cast (probably becaus of the wing) as most of the cars out there r 911 & GT3 & one drop dead GT2 with a body kit on it, but the ugly duckling prooved its worth, right up to the last 30 minuts of the day when it split a water hose and came to a holt
the car handeld so good it was a joy to drive, laping in 1min 1 sec to 1min 3sec constant.
had one or two people come over to have a look to see y it was keeping up with some of the big boys, one even telling me "your car is the most ugly thing i have ever seen but shit its going well"
well over the next few days i will try to finde out wich hose has split & get her back on the road, had a blast & i am very happy with our little 924s

later

Dave

That's the way to answer the critics.

I have only driven that track on the computer, but that off-camber, blind, downhill righthander (Westfield?) must be pretty thrilling. . .

rasta

PS Congrats on the successful track day. . .Shaggy's first of the year is right around the corner!

Paddock Hill Bend. At the end of the main staight. Fantastic corner. The back complex on the GP circuit is great to.
Best European circuit?? Got to be Spa. The drop into and over Eau Rouge is amazing. Was pulling 120mph over the top in my GT3, and nearly 160 at the end of the straight. Just awesome. And as for Pouhon!!!
The ring is good, but too may nut cases.

Crushing. . .another computer favorite of mine I am unlikely to enjoy in person. . .but I have driven it "virtually" in 911RSR, Pantera, GT40, 911 Biturbo. . .

You can race online, you know. You guys should pick up GT Legends and go for a spin with me!

Daveo,

Have you done any suspension work to the car? The pictures in the link posted above show some major roll buddy!

Cheers,
Chris

hi all
steve big thanks for the link lots of good shots of the cars on the day, one of the GT3 was said to be pushing out 400+ BHP, & the black GT2 with the body kit looks so good.
the slicks r so good down into paddock you can push it all the way but even with slicks you can feel the backend starting to come round sweet,
rasta the best thing about paddock is hearing your pasanger scream the first five or six times you go in hot

Chris yes she rolls like crazy, i have the 944 turbo struts up front & back dampers on it, but with the car being 1979 it has no anty roll, i will have to change to much stuff to fit it, i have a set in the garage but dont have the time to fit it, the lodge car is the same as my racer we run leda on them it makes a big improvement to the handiling but it will be to low & hard for a road car, i do need to do something but there is no qick fix,

still had a good day even if i did kill the car

Dave,

Most of the GT3's are around the 400 BHP mark. Mine is an original Mk1 Clubsport model, with the full Manthey kit, and she is around the 410 mark. Even PARR motorsport who were there at Brands supporting the GT3's reckon it's one of the fastest GT3's they've seen.
I know most of the GT3 gang, as we are part of the Titanic group, specifically for GT3's. (Don't ask where the Titanic name came from!!)
You probably saw Tim's GT3 RS, with the carbon wheels, doors, fully stripped interior, the works. We are both competeing in the Porsche speed championship this year.
And as for paddock,....I went through a little hot once, clipped the rumble strip on the inside, car went into the compression at the bottom at about 30 degrees sideways and bottomed out! I swear the passenger soiled himself.
