Please comment on what you think the sale price of a 924 in the following condition should be:

(Caveats: yes, I am very familiar with these cars and their usual issues; I will not comment on the car, I simply am looking for others' unbiased opinions.)

early 77 924, non sunroof, manual trans

has been sitting over 6 months per owner at current location, outdoors; not sure how long it sat before that

mechanical: non-running; stated to need fuel system work to run, owner stated parts somewhere on hand to fix; unknown how long since it last ran

body: paint is peeling off and faded w/ scattered (hopefully) surface rust here and there, esp roof and around windshield. Top windshield trim piece missing. Hood and roof were "oil-canned" (bent) in when I saw it, the roof would pop back out; both doors rusted out at the bottom. Windshield has large crack and would need replacement, all other glass intact. Front fenders rusted out at the bottom/rear, front valance bent/rusted. Aftermarket vents have been installed into cut-outs in the hood. Driver's door catch was repaired with a riveted piece of metal. Scattered minor dings otherwise, including at passenger side rear wheel well. Makeshift towing hitch bolted onto rear bumper.

interior: dash very cracked, upholstery in varying conditions

other: tires need replacement; 3 of 4 seem to be holding some air to let it roll, haven't tried inflating the fourth. Has standard 924 wheels, some gold some silver.

Thanks

sorry...i dont think that this car is worth anything. From your description..every single part of the car is trash.

The value of the car is 0 in my opinion. However you could get some money out of it by parting it...for example the rear hatch..tailights...headlights(maby the headlight motor if its in good condition)....and thats...everything.

I hope i was not rude or mean.

Nope, not at all...I see this (car that I saw, but don't own) as an opportunity to explore the current economics of the 924 marketplace.

Thanks again

Sadly another 924 has perished. A moment of silence please.

Hopefully it will be used to keep other 924s alive and well.

Parts car at best. I would pick it clean {wouldn't take long for this one} where it sits, then have it towed away.

It is a non sunroof. that might be worth something, but I agree, its probly only worth a parts car.

Car is sitting outside in a rural location to be disclosed later...I hope the owner will see fit to let it go for a reasonable amount, as I hate to see yet another one go to a rusty grave...

Yeah, "owner" mentioned in the description ain't me...just curious if others' impressions of the car matched mine, which they do...I think the owner of the car (of course) would expect some princely sum to let it go. Another example of won't fix or restore it but won't let it go to someone who will...so the car sits and rusts...
