Hey! Good to see your long lost self back, Dan.
I was driving back from letting my pal, the
<--big white dog out just last night, listening to those soothing DB piano pieces on the car stereo and wondering what ever happened to Ideola? -Started having crazy thoughts like maybe you sold the Porsches and as part of some sort of early midlife crisis did something kooky like got into Italian sports cars. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. Did you by chance get any full view pictures of the Cayman?

I use a Minolta Maxxum 7D. It's a 6MP digital SLR, with image stabilization built into the CCD, which means I can do handheld photos in low light conditions. I was using two lenses at the show, a Sigma 24-70 MM APO F2.8 wide angle zoon and a Sigma 15-30 MM APO F2.8 ultra wide angle.

Not exactly...2006 was a crazy crazy year for me...it started by wrecking my BMW last Jan 03, progressed rapidly to getting my 1980 931 stolen (yeah, the one I bought from Ray Wolf), then a divorce! But things turned around. I recovered the 931 (albeit not without some damage), got the 928 back on the road, got all of the prep work done on the race motor, and believe it or not, met a fabulous gal that I married the day after Thanksgiving (she's the beauty in the H3 photo).
So, needless to say, there wasn't much time for working on the cars. I pretty much did the minimum necessary to drive the 928, and just enjoyed it last summer. So this year, I'm hoping to get the race motor built, attend to some maintenance on the 81 NA, and get the 80 931 back on the road. The 928 will remain as is until the race car is done, so that motor is still in the crate.

The only Cayman pix were details / closeups. There were too many engineers poking around it, and I couldn't get a clear shot. Industry Preview days are almost as bad as the public days...maybe worse...because you have all these geeks climbing into the engine compartment, crawling under the car, sticking their butts in the air, and generally getting in the way. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
