I just bought a guitar a few weeks back. Been strummin' occasionally in my free time... then I ran across this on YouTube.
Some people are so insanely talented, it's just not fair. Why can't I play guitar like that?!
Seriously cool, though _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Believe me, you don't wanna see that! That guy quite literally has more guitar playing talent in his little finger than I have in my entire body. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

what kind of music do you play? Do you sing? I've been playing guitar for a while. The word "suck" pretty much describes my skill level. . . but I play and sing. Its fun. _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA

Ya, I've been "trying" to play for a couple years now and I still wont play with anyone around! I refuse to take lessons though. Something wrong with me. My goal is to play well enough one day I can walk into a music shop and pick up a guitar without feeling intimidated by every 13 yearold in there

I bought a guitar when I was 18 with every intention of being the next Eddie Van Halen and after 18yrs I'm half way there - I've got the alcoholism down to perfection but can't play a single thing on the guitar yet! _________________ Mars Red '78 Euro 924 n/a

I remember trying to pluck to sweet child o mine, and money for nothin' on my violin, held sideways when i was 11.
Against my parents wishes my sister got my first electric then. Once my fingertips stopped bleeding i picked it up along with one of those listenalong rock tape and book deals....and never looked back.
The blues scale was my start...and that's what i'd reccommend to anyone because it's easy...way more fun than the major scale...and you can jam to alot of good songs to help get a feel for it....but then again...as with anything...I guess you can't just want.....you gotta have a burning desire.

Having grown up in the hills of Pennsylvania, I've always wanted to be able to play a banjo:

Good one, Paul
Ol' Steve Martin is pretty handy with a banjo, eh? I've seen him play before but I can't remember which show.
I also saw Billy Connolly play banjo with a band once, on one of his T.V. travel specials. It was pretty cool. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I love guitar! And all things rock and roll.
I studied jazz for two and a half years in college, have taught guitar on and off for more than 10 years and toured as a guitarist and singer forever, it sometime seems. I used to play some Satriani when being a shredder was hip. Got a neat little home studio now and I'm working up a CD in between students and newswpaper writing and editing work.
Every now and then I fix a Porsche... _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
