just to update...I got a set of D90s off of e-bay that where in my price range and I just got them on the car today and they look awesome. makes the car look more agressive. Nothing like putting another 4 in. of tread on the back of the car. I guess now I will have to paint my calipers since you can see them now...and see all the rust on them.
P.S. I think I'm living in the wrong state because my rims came from Alabama and they were cheap and just the other day a guy in Alabama sold two 931 parts cars for $500 on ebay...too bad the shipping would have been over $1000 for me haha _________________ some times I think Murphy's Law is out to get me

The person I got these from told me they came off of a 1990 911, 6x16 in the front and 8x16 in the back, the 4" of more tred not only makes it look more agressive , but you can really feel it when you put the pedal down.

Hia there, nice tyres! What exact width are they? Do you have 235 etc on them, meaning 235 mm wide? Like here in Australia? Did you have to modify the car at all to fit them? Is there a fair bit of clearance inside the the arch if one gets more in centered rims? 185mm + 4inchs = 285mm?
Thanks,
Dave. |

a 245 on the rear for a 924 is a tight fit but can be done....slimmer spacers and and steel lugs maybe required depending on the offset
there is also tire brand sidewall concerns, so if you can borrow a 16 inch late offset 944 turbo wheel you can an idea of fit....49 to 62 mm offset is in the range, all depends on the width... you can easily do 7s , an 8 will fit and I think a 9 would be real tight, i've monted rims without tires to measure stuff and the shock bolt and overbump pad would need attention, and the parking brake cable will have to be clamped back so not to rub _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

These bolted right up with no adjustments and there is still plenty of room with no rubbing anywhere. I've seen pics on cardomain.com were people had put 17 in. twists on from boxters and they claimed they bolted on I also saw a 924 with 18's on it....that might be getting a little too big
I also threw in a couple more side pics, I dont have a digital camera so it takes me awhile get get off my lazy butt and borrow one. _________________ some times I think Murphy's Law is out to get me

Very nice.
My dad at one point had a 91 944 S2 Cabrio with those rims... except the previous owner had painted them chrome, and half the chrome had peeled off (doh!). _________________ 2002 Mercedes ML500

205/55/16 front on 16x6"
225/50/16 rear on 16x8"
Stock 21mm rear spacers.
The rear left rubbed occassionally prior to rolling the fender. No problems afterward. The tires I'm using have a generous curb-rash protector which is probably the reason.
The fronts are the same tire size and dimensions as the stock 16" 931 wheels and fit perfectly. I have noticed that my 931 has the front fender llips factory rolled, whereas my '77 n/a did not. I remember having a little bit of rubbing on the front of the n/a using these.
A lot of 911 guys think they're ugly; I think they look great on 931's, and on the 1990's C2's that they originally came from. You can usually pick up a nice set right at the $400 mark. _________________ 1980 931S
