|
|
For example, I just got a hatch that would take a wiper. Is the wiring between the console and the rear present? How about the wiring for auxiliiary lights up front?
The above two items account for two of three blank rocker switches on my console. What was the third for?
TIA

I just had my grubby hands all over my foglight wiring recently.. You'll probably find a ye/wt wire with connector near the brake booster - that's for foglights. It's shown as item "T1a" on page 270 of the Haynes.
On the switches right in front of the ashtray - one would be the changeover switch for the 2 power mirror setup if you had it. Item E48 on Haynes page 266.
As far as I know, the foglight switch wouldn't be in with those switches. The OE arrangement would have it mounted just to the left of the cigarette lighter.
I don't know off hand if there should be rear wiper wiring in place already. If you find some unused wires back there, then yes-maybe...obviously. If they're there, there should be a "bk/gn", a "gn" plus maybe a "br". _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Look behind your front bumper near the turn signals and you should find the foglight wiring.... _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

I think the only wiring Porsche leaves for the accessories are the hot wires off the fuse box. That's what I found on mine on the interior side. You can wire it up just like the factory would have done it pretty easily though using the wire diagrams.
I'm pretty sure the console switches are - power mirror toggle, rear wiper, headlight washer rocker, and rear fog light (for the Euro crowd). With the front fog lights going to a big rocker to the left of the cig lighter. _________________ 1980 931S
