|
|
Ok, a rather simple question that I feel stupid fro asking but I must be missing something.
My headlights work fine(motors switch, etc.). I am upgrading the lamps (all set there too) but the only way I can get the lights raised is to turn the key on (or car) and turn the lights on. I can turn them back to the parking lights to keep the pods up and the lights turned off - but I have ot keep the car runing or key in the on position. I do not want to drain my battery while I replace the units.
So, how can i get the lights up and to stay up once i turn the car off and take the key out?
Thanks in advance. _________________ 924.org (no time to complete)

That is correct. Unplug the motor after raising the headlights. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Will they stay up if you disconnect the battery? _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |

Thanks 924RACR - I'll use that method.
D Hook, hadn't tried that but figure they would stay up.
I just want to make sure I wasn't missing a switch on the inside somewhere like my 92 Plymouth Laser had to pop up and down the head lamp units.
hmmm, maybe thats what I can do with that extra toggle switch I have . . . _________________ 924.org (no time to complete)

Disconnect the motor, take of the rubber boot and then turn the black knob until your lights are up. ( SOS function )

Hey Skemcin,
What are you upgrading the lamps with? I feel the need for something more powerful and am interested in how you are approaching the situation.
Regards

Hey tiny,
the headlights are the same as in Golf 1 or rabbit 1 cars. Now you can buy aftermarkets with cristall- clear looking glass and a parking-light-ring added.
Looks like BMW5 series in the dark, costs about 40.-Euros each.

Tiny, I'll get you the information on my upgrade (paused, now, for the time being) when I get home. Basically, its a plastic housing that is flat lens in stead of rounded and uses HID lights.
This is basically what I'm doing:

Has anyone used those Hella lights advertised in Automotion? They look convincing, but are they worth the money?

| I bought some super bright white lights from NAPA for $20. They're much lighter than before. I was thinking about those from ebay with some red angel eyes, but I thought they're kinda rice. I think I'm gonna get some yellow headlights, with yellow Bosch fog lights. Should look good with the black. |

Hi folks,
yes these are the ones iąm talking about. I put another solution to my car, because i have the euro-bumpers i put some yellow Parking/ Highbeams in to it (Yellow glas, used in france) and i am using yellow H4 Halogen Lamps in the main-headlamps.Looks diffrent,i like it.I triy to give my 924 a more classic style,i took of the plastik mirrors and added a Talbot Mirror (Chrome /black) and chrome antenna on the left fender. My instruments get some nice chrome rings around and the air intake (turbo nose ) get`s a " Remove before Flight"( Original from aircraft )cover.
Sorry, no digital camera, and no plan how to put it on the net......

Hey Nobbi,
so you switched over from the sealed beam headlights and put in just the single bulb? Do the Fernscheinwerfer work good at night? I'll be doing about 140km a day, mostly at dark and in snow! |
