So I got my 77 running pretty smoothly, thanks all for you help. Next issue is a strange clutch noise. When you depress it it clicks loudly (almost like a parking brake noise) but it still functions normally. It does seem rather stiff to press compared to an 80 I recently aquired. Any Ideas? _________________ Brian in Bremerton |

Have you checked the firewall where the clutch passes through? Sometimes that area has been known to crack and break due to a bad/sticky clutch cable. Can you pinpoint the location of the noise? _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |

the noise is coming from under the dash (maybe the firewall). As I look at the Haynes diagram and then crane my neck to look at mine I notice a couple of things: There is no spring attached where there should be, yet the pedal is tight and returns to the up position. Could it be that the cable is just way to tight? I checked the distance and it the 138.5 mm seemed correct. began loosening up the cable, I haven't noticed the noise lessening. The firewall looks okay from both sides, but I'm not sure exactly what I should be looking for. Any ideas? almost osunds like a spring induced noise (but no spring to be found.) _________________ Brian in Bremerton |

So as I though about it, if the helper spring is missing, that would mean more strain on the cable and peddle right? Could this be the sole cause of the problem? Next question, where can I get a spring? _________________ Brian in Bremerton |

No more strain on the cable, just your left leg....
A Porsche dealer or a Salvage yard should have the spring. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
