Nah, kiddin' mate, kiddin'.
They're a blast! I went out to a backroad before I came over here, did a standing start to redline in every gear through to 5th... Woo Hoo! I think I was over 110mph changing into 5th... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Yep it was a Federal law in an attempt to save gas. All cars had to comply. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

In ten years people will pay dearly for a green 85 mph 931 speedo.... _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

| I don't care what they are worth in 10 years, mine is going. I don't like cruising on the freeway @80mph and the speedo is almost pegged lol. What's worse you know the car can bury a 140mph speedo. |

My point is that you should save your 85 mph speedo for the next owner.
When these cars finally become financially worth restoring, people will want it to be completely stock. 931s have green numbered gauges, these will be hard to find in ten years.
In the 80's many people removed the fuel injection on 914s, now restorers are paying big bucks to return the cars to stock injection. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Blech, my 914/2.0 had a monster cam, headers, dual 40IDFs, and got 35 MPG driving 80 all day. . .I didn't even want the FI crap I peeled off to be in the trunk!
