First you have to find a place that's willing to do more than just tell what the current settings are.

Most Porsche garages charge more than $150 which is a rip off if nothing needs adjusted.

Now if you have a friend that works at an alignment shop and you show him to do adjust the various settings (especially the rear) you can get it done right and cheap (my last one was $49.)

On a related matter: how do you set caster on the front. I know there's a clamp arrangement at the rear of the A-arm, but I can't see what has to move in relation to what else to effect the caster adjustment.

Another break! Rears were w/in spec, fronts needed only toe adjustment. I just found my brakes all in good shape, and a new clutch! Things are looking up!

If you are going to do a DE, I suggest you install all new brake pads and change your brake fluid.

Also make sure your cooling system is in top condition.

Then you can lead the pack like my 924S in today's picture....BTW some of them blew by me in the next straight but I was giving them all they wanted in the turns!!!

Front brakes are at 70%, rears at 90%.

Cooling system backflushed.

Hydraulic fluid flushed, replaced with synthetic.

DE is two weeks from Friday.

What did you use for brake fluid? Hope it was DOT 3 or 4.

Should be good to go.

Have you done a DE before?

I haven't. Lots of "recreational driving," though, and a couple hundred sim laps on PIR - watched a few hundred, too!

Get ready to learn pushing the brake pedal and gas pedal at the same time while down shifting!!!

I've been trying to do that around town. It's a pain in the ass with my big ass feet. I might need driving shoes.

Big wide feet are the best!!!

Use the ball of your foot on the brake and the little toe side of your foot to blip the throttle. You just rock your foot back and forth. Once you learn how to do it, you'll find yourself doing it on the street, it's fun!

On the track you will probably learn very quickly why matching the revs while down shifting is necessary.

It's all about not upsetting the balance of the car. It's amazing what can happen when the rear tires chirp while letting the clutch out during a downshift at speed!!!!
