I have a Momo Monte Carlo (I think?) in my racecar - pics on my webpage under Construction.
I like the more traditional Momo styles in there, but not the overly-molded, too many colors/buttons, non-circular ones. The Grant ones look cheap IMO.
My Momo was $150, but hub adapters are another expense, about $75 IIRC. Check OG Racing for some options.

i would never put any other steering weels other than porsche original ones. i think it takes from the car's aura and it just makes it look cheaper.
on a race car...yes...if its weight saving. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

I'm not a to tall ( 188cm ), but have difficulty to seat in (steering weel is to big)!
Can't steering normally!
Why to "wade" ? |

I'm waiting to put a momo in...I put momo seats in and I think it'd look really good with them
also, they sit higher than stock seats, so I could really use the extra room (6'2" 195lbs here....not a real big guy, but i have to squeeze in and out under that wheel every time i drive) _________________ '87 924 S - No sunroof and a few modifications |

LOL!
A couple things. Legroom was noted to be a problem; can be improved by moving the steering wheel closer to the driver. Using an aftermarket wheel, because of the adapter required, can accomplish this.
Also Porsche sold a kit with some of the cars to raise the seat by adding spacers under the seat, on top of the adjuster track. These will naturally cut down on the amount of space between legs and steering wheel.
Or install a race seat and put it right on the floor. I'm 6' even, stil fairly low in my 924, and everyone but the tallest can't hardly see over the hood of my car!!! _________________ Vaughan Scott

i say the 3 spoke weel is going nicely with the interior of these cars. I've added a small aluminium porsche sign in the center of my 3 spoke...and i love it !
i never had legroom problems...actualy i've never driven anything more confortable than this car.

Find a 4-spoke lozenge wheel from a 931. It's the smallest steering wheel that came on these cars, it looks great and gives you more leg clearance. Plus, the ignition switch carrier can be moved up the column a little. Access the pinch bolt under the column (6mm inner hex IIRC), loosen it and pull the carrier toward you.Take the steering wheel off first or you'll be pulling for awhile. It'll come - a bit. That and the 931 lozenge wheel gives plenty of legroom. I'm 6' 3" roughly and I've got space. Don't use the 944 lozenge wheel, as it's roughly the same size as the 3-spoke. _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
