I was just wondering if anyone has done any modification to pump out a little more heat on the 924... the defrost-ability of the car is a little less than par - at least for me, and i have replaced the fan and ran new wiring to pump as much juice to the fan as possible (the metal contacts on the heater control just seems inefficient). i was thinking if any other heater fans that fit well in that little spot - i may hit some junk yards and see what i can dig up. Any suggestions would be more than welcome. _________________ 1979 924 NA |

When I first got my car, the amount of air being blown onto the windcreen was pathetic. As the engine warmed up, I could feel warm air reaching my feet, even with all the air supposedly being directed to the screen.
What I found was that the air flap at the bottom of the blower unit was displaced and not covering up the foot-well outlet. I kind of rectified it by bending it into place as best I could.
The defrost air flow to the screen is a lot better now, but still not what I would describe as overwhelming... _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

Maybe you should try on of the rain-x type products. I think they have one specifically for windows that fog up easily.
