I've got oil leaks and I haven't really put my finger on the exact source. I did ratchet the main bolts to torque and this slowed leaking down some so I'm thinking that it is from the main seal somewhere. Does anyone have any discussion on what their day was like changing out this seal? Info please.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Electra is Here......

FWIW I'm just waiting for mine to come back after having the crankshaft seals replaced - so don't stop your search before looking at them also...

I did the front crank seal several times before finding out the crankcase breather was blocked.
Easy enough though. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Yeah, checked that - but it was the actual seals. Doh. _________________ Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about Porsche!

| Are you suspecting the front crank seal, or the rear? Front is do-able, rear means pulling the engine. |

Charlane, what do you mean by 'main bolts' and 'main seal'?
If main seal means crankshaft seal there are no bolts that will affect how it behaves.
Are you refering to the head gasket...? _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)
