This is a fun story I thought I would share-

I came home from work last week to find a note under my windshield wiper. It read "I saw the guy who hit your mirror" and then a name and phone number. Sure enough, my driver side mirror glass was on the ground and cracked and the mirror housing was tilted 90 degrees on it's pivot.

I called the number and the guy saw a man in a sedan try and squeeze between my car (parallel parked) and a garbage truck stopped on the opposite side of the street. As he guy tried to squeeze through, he hit my mirror. When the good Samaritan saw that the guy acknowledged the hit, but then kept on driving, he got pissed and decided to write down his plate number and leave me a note.

After thanking the note-leaver profusely, I called my insurance co. My adjuster ran the plate number and gave me the insurance info of the guy who did the hit & run number. I called his company to file a claim. Today I get a message that they've authorized payment for $141.xx (mirror glass is more expensive than I thought). I also filed a report over the phone with the local P.D. Who knows if they'll do anything, or even care, but I figure everyone hates a hit & run, so maybe he'll get hassled. Even though the payout was small, I'm guessing that his insurance co probably doesn't look too kindly on insuring hit & run crooks. Let's hope he gets a nice insurance rate hike

"C"arma - it's a b*tch!

ps - anyone have an extra driver side mirror glass lying around for the electric flag mirrors?!
